2015 was a very busy year for Olly Murs, with the re-release of his album as well as a massive tour of the UK, Europe and Australia. Olly also released a second book called ‘On The Road’.
Most notably, he also spent the latter half of the year as a presenter on this year’s X Factor, alongside Caroline Flack. Olly received mixed reviews following some slip ups, so we will have to see if he gets asked to present again this year, but for someone with little presenting experience, we thought he did a good job!
Musically, however, it looks as if Olly is keen to follow in Michael Bublé and Robbie Williams’ footsteps by releasing a swing album! Olly told The Sun, “I want to do a swing album. Obviously, Robbie and Michael Bublé have done them successfully.”
However, Olly doesn’t want to do this alone. He continued, “I was thinking that me, Robbie, maybe Gary Barlow, Buble, we could do a Rat Pack-style show at the Royal Albert Hall. We’ll do our own songs, covers, it could be really fun!”. Is a Rat Pack style boyband what the world has been missing recently? We’ll have to wait and see, but it definitely sounds like an interesting concept!
Olly Murs has also given his fans a New Year’s treat by posting a live session video of his latest track ‘Stevie Knows’.
As usual, Olly is his cheeky chappy self during the video, and this live version will no doubt give this pop song some more attention. ‘Stevie Knows’ features on the special edition version of his hit album Never Been Better.
